Google Announces Free Data Transfer Out of Google Cloud

In a recent update, Google has declared that it will no longer impose fees on Google Cloud users when they transfer data to other cloud providers or back to on-premise datacenters. This policy is effective immediately and aims to alleviate the financial burden on enterprises managing cloud egress costs.

Terms and Eligibility for Google's New Policy

Google Cloud services such as BigQuery, Cloud Bigtable, and Cloud SQL among others are covered by this new policy. Customers must apply for approval and complete their data transfer within 60 days. Following the termination of their agreement with Google, qualified customers will receive a bill credit for the transfer fee.
